Why then is it so difficult for a driver to slow down for a defenseless iguana, let alone any other animal like a cat or dog? It is so easy to slow down and go around a helpless animal/reptile so it is sad to see the occasional roadkill. I think Curacao needs more pedestrian signs, 'slow' signs, and animal/reptile signs. It wouldn't cost the government much and I think the tourists would be happy to see that Curacao cares about its wildlife.
